Food-Contact Surfaces
Direct food-contact stainless steel surfaces require cleanability, smooth finishing, and stable corrosion resistance for daily production use.

Application Lines
Jinling Steel supplies stainless steel for food and beverage processing equipment where hygiene, cleanability, corrosion resistance, weld quality, and surface consistency are critical. From food-contact tables and processing tanks to conveyors, washdown areas, sanitary piping, and filling equipment, we help buyers choose the right stainless steel grade, surface finish, sheet or tube route, protective film, and packing method before production.
Food and beverage stainless steel is selected by contact risk, cleaning method, moisture exposure, and fabrication route. Each zone has different hygiene, corrosion, and surface finish requirements.

01
Direct food-contact stainless steel surfaces require cleanability, smooth finishing, and stable corrosion resistance for daily production use.

02
Stainless steel tanks and vessels need corrosion resistance, weld quality, and surface control for food, beverage, and ingredient processing.

03
Food conveyor frames, guards, and contact parts require durable stainless steel with easy cleaning and stable fabrication performance.

04
Wet cleaning zones need stainless steel that can handle water, cleaning chemicals, and repeated sanitation cycles. 316L stainless steel

05
Food and beverage process piping requires hygienic tube routes, clean weld treatment, and controlled internal surface quality. Sanitary Tube

06
Filling machines, packaging lines, and equipment panels need stainless steel that supports clean handling, scratch protection, and reliable assembly.
Food-grade stainless steel route by hygiene zone, contact type, and cleaning risk
| Hygiene Zone | Decision Link | Contact Type | Cleaning Risk | Recommended Route |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Food-contact tables | Sheet | Direct food contact | Frequent wipe-down and residue removal | 304 sheet, 2B or No.4 finish, cut-to-length |
| Processing tanks | 316L | Product contact | Acidic ingredients, weld zones, cleaning cycles | 304 / 316L sheet or plate depending on media |
| Sanitary piping | Sanitary Tube | Internal product transfer | Internal cleanliness and weld quality | Sanitary tube with controlled ID / OD finish |
| Washdown zones | 316L | Wet exposure | Chloride cleaners, standing water, corrosion risk | 316L review for aggressive cleaning environments |
| Conveyor frames | Tube | Indirect contact | Cleaning access and fabrication durability | 304 tube, sheet, or formed parts |
| Equipment panels | Protective Film | Visible and functional surface | Scratches before assembly or export | 304 sheet, No.4 / 2B, protective film |
Food-grade stainless steel selection should consider direct contact, wet cleaning, cleaning chemicals, weld treatment, surface finish, and whether the material will be supplied as sheet, tube, or fabricated parts.
The best stainless steel route depends on product contact, cleaning frequency, wet exposure, fabrication method, and whether the equipment requires sheet, tube, or sanitary tube.
Choose 304 stainless steel for most general food-contact tables, equipment panels, frames, conveyors, and controlled indoor processing areas.
Choose 316L stainless steel when the equipment is exposed to chloride cleaners, acidic food ingredients, standing water, salt, or stronger sanitation cycles.
Use stainless steel sheet for worktables, panels, guards, splash areas, and equipment skins. Use sanitary tube where internal product transfer, hygienic welding, and clean flow paths are required.
Choose 2B, No.4, or polished stainless steel finish based on cleaning method, visible surface needs, and residue risk.
Cut-to-length, bending, welding, and formed parts should be planned before surface protection and packing are finalized.
Choose protective film and suitable export packing when stainless steel sheets or panels will be cut, bent, welded, assembled, or shipped long distances.
